Who we are

The NGK Sparkplug Europe GmbH in Ratingen Germany has been in existence since the end of the seventies and is the European headquarter of the Japanese group "NGK Spark Plugs Co.Ltd", with around 12,000 employees, who were already established in the mid-1930s. NGK Europe also has offices in five European countries.

In Germany, all European sales and development activities are bundled. The European logistics center and the technical testing center are also located at the German headquarter. The production facilities of the company are spread all over the world - in Europe the plant is located in France.

A total of around 330 employees work at the headquarters of Ratingen and the European offices.
For more than 30 years, we are successful in the European market and we have been able to achieve a stable and healthy growth.

What we do

Our main stage is the automotive division of the company. We develop and distribute parts for automotive applications such as spark plugs, glow plugs, lambda sensors and ignition cables. For many years, we have been an established OEM and technology partner for the European automotive industry and supply the spare parts trade across Europe.

original equipment

Our technical specialists of the original equipment and the team of the Technical Test Center, together with the European vehicle manufacturers, develop the NGK / NTK products, which are tuned to the engine up to the start of production. Other teams provide comprehensive commercial and logistical support for automotive manufacturers.

Aftermarket

In this business field, we serve customers in retail spare parts throughout Europe and independent workshops in different countries. Sales organization, product management, marketing and logistics, provide customers with comprehensive support in the field of market processing as well as storage and ensure a smooth processing.

NTK

Another division of the company is the Technical Ceramics Division. Since 1981 we have been marketing special products of technical ceramics which are used in industrial manufacturing, energy technology, IT or telecommunications under the brand "NTK". With more than 70 years of tradition in the ceramics industry, NGK has developed into one of the most successful suppliers in Europe.

Ceramics is a core competence:
The know-how of NGK/NTK in technical ceramics remains an important key element for the success of the company to this day. After all, this high-tech material is found in nearly every product the corporate group offers: It is required for insulators and spark plugs as well as glow plugs and lambda sensors, used in computers and mobile phones, industrial tools and prostheses.

This is for a good reason:
If abrasion resistance, thermal resistance, durability and good electrical insulation properties are needed, there is no better alternative to ceramics. That is because the material is extremely hard, wear-resistant, inherently stable and insulating. In addition, it is distinguished by its relatively low weight.
